Borough Green Village Hall

Welcome to the Borough Green Village Hall which was built in 1965 after many years of fundraising by the local Community.

The hall quickly became the social centre for the village with regular dances and special events over the years and is still run by volunteers and funded solely from the users.

We are rightly proud of the Hall, which was paid for and built by the Community for the Community.

About

The Village Hall is a community facility built by the local villagers after 3 years of fundraising.

In the early 60’s Borough Green was growing fast and both newcomers and established landowners realised the need for its own Village Hall. After securing the land in the centre of the village the residents set about raising the necessary funds to complete the hall. Led by Lt Col F.E. Griggs, he organised volunteers to provide the necessary labour, whilst local tradesmen provided the expertise, the hall was finished in 1965.

The Hall is run by volunteers and funded solely from the users. As our current Trustees we are keen to continue to ensure that the village hall is at the centre of local social events, clubs and groups for the benefit of all.

We have three different spaces for hire (The Main Hall, The Small Hall and The Meeting Room), so can cater for all forms of activities from private to commercial uses. The whole of the village hall building can be hired in its entirety, or the individual rooms can be hired separately.

Main Hall

Our Main Hall is fitted with a permanent stage so that we can entertain local drama and dance performances.   The Main Hall is regularly used for local public meetings and can accommodate many indoor sporting activities as well as private parties and official functions.

£22 per hour.

Small Hall

The Small Hall is more suited to smaller classes and private parties. The hall has a well equipped kitchen and is regularly used for lunch meetings.

Meeting Room

The Meeting Room is ideal for small meetings for local businesses, fun and learning groups and local community groups. We have facilities for presentations with a large screen and projector for use by hirers. This hall is accessible to the kitchen through a serving hatch for the provision of  food and drink.

The Hall has a large car park which is free of charge upto a maximum of 3 hours and hirers who will exceed that time separate arrangements can be made.
